I always do a visual inspection of my car before driving, and I noticed that a lug nut cover was missing. To my surprise, the entire lug nut was gone. Pretty weird...

Whoa, that’s odd! Good catch! Definitely grab a replacement, and while you’re at it, give those other lug nuts a quick check to make sure they’re tight too.

It’s great that you do those visual checks; they can help catch issues like that before you drive. I hope it’s an easy fix.

It’s good you caught that during your inspection. Missing a lug nut could be a safety concern, so definitely get it replaced soon. I’d also check the other lug nuts to ensure they’re properly tightened.

Speaking of lug nuts, my brother wasn’t checking his properly and somehow went from April until last week with just 4, then 3, and finally 2 lug nuts. Tesla serviced his car twice during that time and missed it.

They claimed they take photos at drop-off and pick-up showing the lug nuts were there, but my brother has photos proving they weren’t.

Today, after just getting his car back from a service to fix this, Tesla asked to come to his house to torque the lug nuts, since they didn’t do it or take the photos.
