With LG and Panasonic now producing Tesla’s 4680 cells, it makes me wonder, are newer, higher-density batteries already being used in the Cybertruck?

- There’s been a lot of noise about solid-state breakthroughs, but 4680 still looks like the key battery tech for now.
- If LG and Panasonic are just finalizing their production lines, could they already be producing improved energy density versions?
- Would Tesla software-limit Cybertruck battery capacity now and unlock more range later?

We’ve seen other automakers quietly roll out battery improvements without announcing them right away. Could Tesla be doing the same with the Cybertruck?

What do you think, will we see a surprise range increase soon, or will 4680 cell upgrades take longer to reach production?

Solid-state battery progress is either slow or suspect, which is a bummer since it distracts from the real advancements. The 4680 cells are here, and Tesla’s already putting them in production, while others are still stuck in prototype land. Fingers crossed for more action soon!

Hey, but the 4680 cells are already providing an improvement in energy density. It is not something new. Though, I don't think we will see any range increase in the short term.
