Issues with PowerShare and PG&E delays

I’ve run into an issue with my PowerShare setup. Here’s the situation: I had the Backup Gateway, Backup Switch, and Universal Wall Charger installed back in March 2024. The Universal Wall Charger works fine, but the Backup Switch hasn’t been fully connected yet because PG&E needs to finalize the installation.

Yesterday, I got two emails from Tesla at 5 PM offering to “redesign” my PowerShare installation. I’m not even sure what that means. The installer here in the Bay Area mentioned I was only the second non-Tesla employee in the area to get this setup. Interestingly, I haven’t paid the installation company yet since the final step hasn’t been completed.

Anyone else experienced this or received these emails? Curious what “redesign” might involve and if this has happened to others in PG&E territory.
 
“Redesign” might mean Tesla is trying to simplify the setup or adjust it to work without the final PG&E connection. If you haven’t paid the installer yet, that’s good leverage. Maybe ask Tesla directly if the redesign involves extra costs or changes to the functionality.
