Hey enthusiasts! Been diving into the Cybertruck schematics for a peek at diagnostic access, especially around the ethernet setup. Looks like the OBD port provides diagnostic ethernet access to the MCU, which could work with Tesla’s Toolbox. From what I see, the pinout for this port is similar to what you'd find on a BMW OBD/RJ45 adapter, so I'm hoping a simple Amazon adapter might do the trick here. Planning to confirm once I have my Cybertruck in a couple of weeks!

There’s also an “ethersnoop” diagnostic port tucked in the passenger footwell, and this one seems to be a straightforward RJ45 connection—no adapter needed. Since Tesla switched to an ethernet-based bus for Cybertruck and future models, this might give us direct UDS access. My thought is to try some BMW-compatible tools and see if they reveal any insights on the Cybertruck side. Anyone else experimenting with diagnostics or planning to? Would love to hear what you find!

I remember I saw a video on YouTube with someone who connected via Ethernet through the ODBC adapter, but I can't find it anymore. Forgot the title of it. Go for a searching session if you have time.

Sounds like an exciting project! The ethernet-based bus and diagnostic ports open up interesting possibilities. Let us know how the BMW-compatible tools work with the Cybertruck. I’m curious about the potential for direct UDS access too...
