Hello everyone! I am new to the forum so please be patient with me.
How is it better? To charge my truck to 80% every day or let it drop below 50%?
I prefer charging daily for unexpected long trips or power outages.
Also, is it true that there might be a future software update to automatically charge to 100% when extreme weather is forecasted?
Any advice on charging habits would be appreciated!

Charging to 80% daily is great for battery health and ensures you're ready for trips. Letting it drop below 50% isn't necessary unless you're conserving range.

I’ve been charging my truck daily to around 80%, and I’ve noticed it’s been helpful in maintaining battery health. Letting it drop below 50% occasionally hasn’t caused major issues, but I prefer topping it off to avoid unnecessary discharges. As for the software update, I haven’t heard of one yet, but it sounds like a helpful feature for extreme weather. I’ll keep an eye out for any updates...

I usually keep my car plugged in and charge it to 80%. I lower the charge in the winter. I sometimes charge to 100% for trips, but I don't keep it full for long.

Welcome to the forum! Here is what I do with my EV: I typically charge to 80% daily and keep it plugged in. If I know I am not using it for a while, I lower the charge level to 30-50% (but I keep it plugged in).

For long trips, I charge it to 100%, but I avoid letting it sit at 100% for more than a few hours. If I know I will need more range the next day, I will occasionally bump it to 85-95% just for that one time.

As for the update to auto-charge to 100% during extreme weather, it is a cool idea, but I haven’t seen anything confirmed yet. I wish you good luck and feel free to ask for more details if you need them.
