Is the range extender great for backup power?

I have been looking into the value of the range extender for the Cybertruck, and I found that the extender gives an extra 130 miles (38% of the CT's battery cap). If the CT has a 125kWh battery, that means the extender offers about 48-50kWh of extra capacity. Now, when we think about the range extender in terms of backup suply, and that's equivalent to around 4.5 Tesla Powerwalls, which would normally cost about $38k installed. But the range extender comes in at around $16k installed, so you are getting a pretty significant deal if you are ok with sacrificing some bad space.
What do you guys think?

The main drawback is that it can't output a lot of power at once. 3 Powerwalls can output more power, but they don't store as much energy. So, it's a trade-off.

The range extender seems like a great deal, offering significant backup capacity at a lower cost than multiple Powerwalls, despite the space trade-off.

That is an interesting perspective! I wonder if the range extender could qualify for the home battery tax credit, too. If it doubles as a backup power source for your home, there might be a case for it. It would be a great way to offset the cost even further. Don't you think?

I don't think it's possible to install it anywhere else. I heard it needs to be affixed to a structural element.
